Patientspresenting with joint pains to an orthopaedic service may be identifiedas having an underlying rheumatic disorder, which is best managed byconservative medical treatment from a Rheumatologist. It is thereforeimportant for any Orthopaedic Service to have access and support from aRheumatology Service. 

The  Manchester Orthopaedic Group have Dr Jeff Marks and Dr Abbas Ismail as Consultant Rheumatologists who are able to provide comprehensive management of awide range of rheumatic disorders and Dr Abbas Ismail has a special interest in metabolic bone disorders such as osteoporosis and Paget's disease.
