Radiologists are specialists in the use and interpretation of x-rays, ultrasound, MRI scans, CT scans and bone scans.

Just as orthopaedic surgery is now split into subspecialities, radiology is also divided into different specialities such as neuroradiology, vascular radiology and musculoskeletal radiology.

The Manchester Orthopaedic Group is blessed with several specialist musculoskeletal radiologists - Drs Omair Rauf, Phil Sanville, Pascal Demaine and Abdul Choudhri. They are experts in the interpretation of x-rays and scans relating to orthopaedics.

There are weekly clinical meetings between our orthopaedic surgeons and our radiologists to discuss difficult cases. This ensures that our radiologists can use clinical findings to correlate with radiological findings. This combination of orthopaedic surgeons and radiologists allows better quality interpretation of radiological scans and x-rays.
