Mr Michael Morris qualified at Manchester University Medical School in 1968.
After house jobs in the major teaching hospitals of Manchester and basic surgical training around Manchester, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1973.
His orthopaedic training was in Manchester and the North-West with a research year as a Fellow at the Mayo Clinic, USA, (1977-78).
He was appointed a Consultant in General Orthopaedics & Trauma at Stockport in 1980 with a specific interest in hand and upper limb surgery.
At Stockport he held various administrative posts including that of Clinical Director in the Orthopaedic & Trauma Department.
As well as expanding his interest in hand and upper limb surgery he developed a medico-legal practice. In the last few years he has focused almost exclusively on medico-legal practice.
Based on his general orthopaedic and trauma experience, he deals with a wide spectrum of medico-legal cases but also focuses on his specific interest of the upper limb, dealing with all aspects including work-related upper limb disorders.
He is a member of The British Society for Surgery of the Hand, a founder member of The North West Surgical Hand Society, a member of many other Societies including The Society of Expert Witnesses, and is a member of The Academy of Experts. He is listed in the Expert Witness directory.
