Manchester Orthopaedic Group surgical spinal services are led by Mr Brian Todd and Mr Vik Kapoor. They are supported by Dr Philip Sanville, Consultant in Radiology and a number of Physiotherapists affiliated to the Group. Any patient with a spinal problem can choose to see Mr. Todd or Mr. Kapoor at Ryley Mount consulting rooms, The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle or the Regency Hospital in Macclesfield.
Following initial assessment a wide range of investigative techniques, including Magnetic Resonance Scanning, can be utilised to accurately diagnose individual problems. Both surgeons have a long experience of a wide range of surgical techniques and have been at the forefront of new developments in spinal surgery in the North West of England. Minimally invasive spinal fusion, soft tissue stabilisation techniques and cement injection for osteoporotic spinal fractures are only three techniques which have successfully been introduced in recent years. Both surgeons have an NHS base at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and work as a team there as well as in private practice. Common conditions:
